Jacoby Ellsbury had a very productive week for the Red Sox. Ellsbury continues to help be a catalyst for the Red Sox and has helped them achieve the best record in the AL.

Dustin Pedroia also had a solid week for the Red Sox. He hit his third homer of the year and makes a good Pac10Pros combination with Ellsbury to help get the Red Sox offense going.

Baseball Pac10Pro of the Week-Pitchers

Brian Bannister continues to pitch well in day games this season. He improved to 4-2 with a 2.48 ERA after his solid performance Sunday against the White Sox. Bannister also pitched well in his other start of the week against the Twins only giving up one run over seven innings, but got no run support.

Baseball Pac10Pro of the Month-Batters

June 2009

Chase Utley (UCLA)

.320 Avg

6 HRs
19 RBIs
2 SBs

Runner-up

Jacoby Ellsbury (Oregon St.)

.313 Avg

12 SBs

Chase Utley had a tremendous month to help keep the Phillies atop the NL East. Utley continues to be a strong offensive force and one of the best to play second base in baseball.

Jacoby Ellsbury had a solid month despite being moved down to the bottom of the Red Sox lineup. Ellsbury has shown good dedication and persistence despite the "demotion".

Baseball Pac10Pro of the Month-Pitchers

June 2009

Tim Lincecum (Washington)

48.2 Innings
4-1
48 K's
1.48 ERA
0.90 WHIP

Runner-up

Randy Johnson (USC)

36 Innings
4-1
24 K's
3.25 ERA
1.14 WHIP

Tim Lincecum dominated his opponents last month and now has put himself in a position to defend his Cy Young Award. Lincecum will look to become the first pitcher since 2002 to win back-to-back Cy Young Awards, when Pac10Pros Randy Johnson won four in a row from 1999-2002. Look for Lincecum to continue to be the dominant pitcher we've seen so far.

Randy Johnson had a great month also. The combination of Lincecum and Johnson has helped the Giants to the second best record in the National League. And if the playoffs were to start today they would be the Wild Card team in the NL.
