Jerome Harrison (Washington St.) had the third best rushing performance in NFL history on Sunday. Harrison's 286 yards on the ground blew by Jim Brown's team record of 232 and only trailed Jamal Lewis and Adrian Peterson for best all time. Harrison's previous career high was 121 yards, which he achieved earlier this season against the Bengals. Harrison's jersey from the game was sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH for his record-setting day. Congratulations to Jerome Harrison for his fantastic day in Kansas City!
Jerryd Bayless (Arizona) scored a career-high 29 points last night to help the Trail Blazers defeat the visiting Suns. Bayless has stepped up his game when the Blazers need him the most. The Blazers have been fighting through injuries since the beginning of the season and have been looking for another scorer to help take the pressure off of leading scorer Brandon Roy (Washington). Bayless and Roy combined to score 56 of the Blazers 105 total points. Making for a potentially powerful scoring duo that could help propel the Blazers up the standings.
Once we heard that Pac10Pro prospect OF Michael Taylor (Stanford) was involved in this mega-deal, we took notice. Now that it is finalized we can discuss where Taylor is off to. Taylor was sent to the A's organization as part of this deal. However, before Taylor could get too comfortable he was sent to the Blue Jays for 3B Brett Wallace (Arizona St.). This is the second time Wallace has been traded in the last six months, he was involved in the deal that sent Matt Holliday to the Cardinals. Spring Training will be a chance for both of these guys to shed the label "prospect" and prove they are worthy of a Major League roster spot. Wallace will be competing at either 1B or 3B for the Blue Jays, while Taylor will be competing for an outfield spot with the A's.
Chris Jennings (Arizona) accomplished something that no other Cleveland Browns running back had done all season, score a rushing touchdown. Jennings, who began the season on the practice squad, has been one of a few bright spots for the Browns this season. Last night he rushed the ball 20 times for 73 yards against one of the toughest teams to run against, the Steelers. Included was his 10 yard touch down run, where he bounced it outside and sneaked right inside the pylon.
