Chase Utley had a monster week on and off the field. Not only did his bat help the Phillies win two of three from the New York Mets, he also took the overall lead in the National League for the All Star Game. He has a lead of over a million votes for second base. Utley looks primed to
make his fourth consecutive all-star game.
Willie Bloomquist is having a career year in Kansas City. He has a career average of .266 and is batting .291 this season. His career high in RBIs is 22, and he currently has 13. His career high in SBs is 16 and he has 11 already this year. Bloomquist has rewarded the Royals for giving him extra playing time and is proving to be a solid veteran presence in the Royals clubhouse.
