Jody Gerut Hits for the Cycle

Jody Gerut (Stanford) became one of the most unlikely players on the Brewers to hit for the cycle on Saturday. Coming into the game in a extremely limited rold, Gerut had only four hits on the young season. However, Gerut responded to a rare start with a phenomenal performance. Gerut homered in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and tripled in the fifth inning in his first three at bats. Gerut then flied out and grounded out to put the pressure on not completing the cycle. But in the ninth inning, Gerut came to the plate and unloaded on a pitch to deep center over the centerfielder's head and cruised into second base. Congratulations to Jody Gerut for becoming only the sixth Brewer to accomplish this feat in team history!
